File these under favorite thrift finds of all time!

I came across these two different antique washstands a few weeks back & couldn’t pass them up. while they aren’t the same, they have such similar shapes & tones— I knew they’d make the perfect nightstands in our room.

They’re true vintage, hand made, with real marble tops & weigh hundredsss of pounds each (special thanks to the guys that carried them up 3 flights of stairs) and, you won’t believe I bought them at a thrift store for $150 each. These babies are from the 1800s, and I cannot believe the condition they’re still in!

Our primary bedroom is so large I’ve been on the hunt for something that would fill the space & create a true statement. My biggest piece of design advice is to find things that make you feel something— & let me tell you, I felt something in my soul when I saw these. The movement in the marble tops had me captivated, and I couldn’t believe the detail in the original hardware, and how seamlessly the wood tones matched. I don’t think I could love them any more.

Not to mention, the history they bring! As we’re moving our way through updating our builder-grade, 2020 new construction home, I’ve found myself looking for vintage pieces to bring the character I’m craving. And these pieces have done just that.
I hope you love them as much as I do!
xx
