Hey there, friends! Welcome back to the blog. Today I’m giving you a look into current new construction projects in our design lineup. Each of these projects is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

New builds take quite a while to get to the “pretty” stages we typically see on Pinterest & Instagram, so I thought I’d peel back the curtain and show you a few of the homes I’m currently working on behind the scenes.

  1. The Silver Strand Project | #silverstrandproject

This cutie little home is a future short-term rental, and she’s alllll charm. Just three blocks from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, we got to play around with coastal-inspired colors and tones in the hard finishes.

We stacked this glossy, undulated tile in a Vertical Straight Joint & offset it with a matte, marble-inspired penny tile on the floors & in the niche. LOVE!

These special, custom elements add layers to the eventual furnishings. When you get the opportunity to build from the ground up, choosing colorful cabinetry, patterned tile, and custom light fixtures allows the home to stand on its own, so when you add furniture, you’re putting makeup on an already beautiful face. Of course, y’all know my love for vintage and old homes too– there are bonuses both ways! But I love being intentional with hard finishes when I can to create a truly unique look, especially in a vacation home.

2. The Coastal Casa | #coastalcasaproject

This is another future vacation rental just blocks from the beach. I chose a two-toned cabinet in this project which I LOVE. The creamy neutrals and pop of blue make the perfect base for this beach home kitchen. Plus, have you seeeeen this backsplash?? I’m drooling. This is a Quartz slab backsplash from Technistone and she is gorgeoussss.

A sandy neutral island, wrapped in shiplap, surrounded by slate blue lower cabinets. The fireplace you see in the background runs over 20 feet high!

The kitchen will be topped off with woven Serena & Lily Pendants and I can’t wait to see them installed. Just like the #LCOsilverstrandproject, this home is getting a plaster-inspired vent hood and open shelves, as well as stunning light fixtures in all the bathrooms from Shades of Light. I can’t wait to see the vaulted ceilings & other pretty details come to life.

3. The Bayberry Street Project | #bayberrystreetproject

Bayberry Street needs no fancy project name because she is TRULY one of a kind. She is beauty, she is grace, and she’s got some stunning views of Chic’s Beach & the Chesapeake Bay out of so many windows. This 3500+ Square Foot beauty will sleep 20 people when its all said and done- complete with two bunk rooms, four additional bedrooms, a giant open-concept living space, the most beautiful custom vent hood in the kitchen everrrrr, my favorite quartz I’ve ever laid eyes on, tons of trim work, a fourth-story crow’s nest deck, a library-style built-in bookcase, garage converted into a game room/pool house, and an in-ground pool and hot tub.

This view from the living room is going to be unrealll

Need I say anything else?? This is a true passion project, and probably the most excited I’ve EVER been for a project. I’ve been on site multiple times a week freezing my booty off (hello January by the ocean) & every detail will be 100% worth it.

Thanks for coming along behind the scenes! Can’t wait to share more of these projects with you!

Much Love,

Hayds
